Definitely lower the rear some more. My rear fenders cover about 2 inches of a 17" wheel and a 275 rear tire. The only problem with that is if you have to change a tire on the road, I will need to raise the tires off of the ground and then use a bottle jack to get the frame high enough to let the tire clear the fender and then it will barely come off.
Your truck looks great.

I ordered a new hanger that should give me 1.2" more in the rear. If it's not enough I can flip the original hanger. Because I have the lowering spring I don't think flipping the axle is an option. It would put the housing into the bed. I should get it done this weekend. I did get it out on Sunday and cruised for a couple of hours. It hasn't been on the road since 2007 so it was very satisfying.

Kevin, you gonna make it to KC SS. i'd love to see your slick in person. Amaizing work.

Always lower never raise! :D Looks great! I lowered mine 14 inches from original height. I flipped my rear end and pulled a couple of spring leafs, perfect now. Barney Fife always said Rule # 1 is to obey the rules, Rule #2 is lower it, Rule # 3 see Rule# 1

Got the old hanger off, went to bolt the new one on and not close. You can see in the pics below. I don't think they sent the correct ones. Anyway welded up the holes and made new. Here is how it sits now. Had some time to do a couple of other thing too. Put the passenger mirror on, put the golve box in, and got the heater working again. Gonna get it aligned while I am out of town this week. Still have to notch the rear so I had to be careful driving down the road, only about 2" travel.

Been a daily driver for the past month and a half now. 20 mpg is better than my 07. I did c-notch the frame last weekend and picked up some shim to adjust the pinion angle, off 2 deg and there is a slight vibration around 50 but this should take care of it. Here are some pics of a project I have been working of the past few weeks. Swaped out the 289 for a 358 hp 302 from ATK with a fast ez efi and a 5 speed. I did this for a guy at work. Funny thing is about half way through he got promoted and is now my boss. Kissing up to the new boss and didn't even know it. Anyway, been looking into air conditioning as it is getting hot. Any suggestions.

Been awhile since I have updated. I ended up building another motor since the mustang donor had significant mileage on it. Found a ford racing crate on CL with 20,000 miles on it. Pulled it apart and freshened it up with gaskets. Its a 306ci SVO aluminum GT 40X heads, 1.6 RR, trick flow intake 76 mm tb, 24 lb injectors and MAF Here are some pics. Also found a recovered seat from a 92 which I will have to take some pics. Also got an Anderson motorsport tuner and vortech supercharger coming with around 10lb of boost. Should put me around 375hp to the wheels. Anyway here are a few pics. Enjoy. Sorry I miss SS, was picking corn. Bad thing was I am only 300 miles away.
