on the way back from the post office saturday, dropping of some items to be shipped to fellow members, i was stuck behind some :arse: pulling a big enclosed snowmachine trailer. kept trying to get around but the trailer owner and traffic prevented it, so i backed off a ways. all sorts of snow dust was starting to fly off the top of the trailer, next thing i know a rock hits my windshield, nice nickel size spot 4 inches from the bottom even with the center of the drivers wiper in the down position.been really cold out was -15 this morning, thats usually when the chips grow legs .have not driven my truck since nor have i been out to look at it, afraid of what i might find.
wish folks would learn to clean off their cars, trucks and trailers before traveling.
if i had been in my wifes truck with the FE, i might have made it around the trailer but its a non-issue as her windshield already has a spider.

In WA if it comes off the truck, the owner is responsible. If it comes off the road and flies up, it's just a road hazard.

Driving home from work one day in one of my T-Birds ( The Unstock one)
I heard a Pop as I was passing a 18 wheeler. Looked at my windshield and didn't see anything and said whatever it was must have hit the body,

Wrong. :o

I glanced up a few minutes later and low and behold my Moon Roof was shattered. Luckly I had just Limo tinted the glass in it a few weeks earlier or I would have had a lap full of broken glass.

several years ago, back in Mi, a friend of mine was behind a landscaping truck, a softball size rock came off the back and got his windshield.he was lucky, saw it coming and ducked at the last minute.caved the whole thing in.as Jimbob said, no-fault .he gave them a big stink, but of course they did not pay for it .a couple of friends talked him out of going to their yard and smashing one of their windshields.
