Power Steering Pump for Toyota box...

Post by 64Ranger »

I hate to beat this to death...but what type, make or kind of power steering pump has anyone used that converted their pre-65 truck steering using one of the Toyota Power Steering boxes?
Thanks for any help,

Check out this months classic trucks......CCP came out with a kit for the 57 to 60s.... The 64 is so similar to the frame profile of the 57 to 60 it should be a no brainer...

PS standard ford slip type pump is what you want.....NOT the Bendix unit. If you are getting a box also get the hoses as they have the toy end... a little welding to some tubing and the ford ends are on...

I used the pump and brakets from a 78 F-150, but I used the hoses from the 87 Toyota that I got the box from and replaced the pressure end with one that fit the Ford pump.

Hey Garbz,
I can't believe it... this is the first Thanksgiving, ever, that we won't be in town. I will be in Oregon visiting the in-laws. Maybe we can try it again? Shoot Rob an email, he lives in San Diego and might want to meet up with you all. If I can help you get ahold of Rob, let me know.
Thanks for keeping me informed,
