Prolly would have been the nicest original 4x4 around if they had not swapped the motor! Nice clean truck at any rate. Love those type of vehicles that were hidden away and escaped time for a while!

Sweet truck.. I'd rather have that motor than anything the factory had put in, in 1977. I wish it had it...only if i was rich....

Its ok when my truck is finished I'll have a 65 4x4 with a 446 FE stroker that'll be better... ha ha ha!!

Wow, that's a real beauty! Still, he'll probably have a hard time getting his asking price out of it.

except for the broken windshield, torn seat, missing endgate,
wrong hood, huge rust holes in bed, worn out engine, broken
door and window handles, mismatched tires , that truck looks
just like mine! whistle.gif

Interesting, but I think the 427 is wasted in a 4x4 pickup. Where is a 64 Fairlane when you need one? Actually, I'd cut my shock towers in my 63 Falcon to welcome that bad boy....'scuse me while I wipe the drool off my lower lip.....

:iagree: I love Dentside 4x4s but there are so many homes I could think of for a 427 besides there. That truck would rock with the stump pulling torque generated by nice 385 engine.

All things considered, drool drool drool

This truck looks too good to be true, so it probably is. I bet that mileage is closer to 133,000. That seller is probably never going to sell that truck on eBay. Looking through my dad's Ford service manuals for FE engines also leads be to beleive there'd be no way to tell weather or not that was really a 427 without checking for the cross bolts (which can be added by any machine shop) and then tearing the engine down. It could be a 390 or 428. I also don't think someone with the cash to burn on a 427 side-oiler would cheap out and get a $20 air cleaner or use a 50 cent hose clamp to attach the tach to the steering column.
