66 F-100 Frame vin numbers
I would like to say HI to every one here as I'm new to the site.
I live in Las Vegas now having moved here a year ago from Mich. I need to register my truck here and they tell me this is a frame state (they need to see the vin number on the frame a valid Mich. title is no good) the problem is the numbers on the front frame are no longer there as I clipped it. are they any were else on it.
Thanks for your help!!!!!

the vin is stamped in 2 places on the pssenger side frame, the first one you removed is about 1 foot rear of the core support, the other is directly under the passenger floor. cant see it with cab on.

Dumb perhaps, but more and more states are going to it in attempts to reduce theft and fraud.
A good reason to consider carefully a frame swap.
Do the paperwork, and make sure you can get and keep all the titles, or go to the trouble of upgrading your Slick rather than swapping bodies.
Also be careful when buying a Slick, to compare the frame VIN to the title.

One thing you can do is after that area is clean the area and get some Silly Putty and mash it over the VIN. This will inprint it on the putty.
I would record the number at home, practice imprinting the number so I could do it quicky if the inspector had to wittness.

I can drive it home with one headlight.

66 F-100 frame vin
I would like to thank every one for the info on the locations of the vin numbers on my truck. When the weekend get here (and nun to soon) I will see if they are there, when I did the frame it was cleaned and painted.
thanks again.
thanks again.
My '65 had very little paint on it and a lot of rust. When I finished wire brushing and sanding the frame with a DA, I still could easily see the factory stampings. My suspicion is you should be able to make them out, especially the stamping just ahead of the rear cab mount on the top of the passenger rail.
