4.6 SOHC ???
4.6 SOHC ???
Have any of you Slicksters installed a 4.6 modular engine in to a Slick or Rod? I have found a good deal on an engine, trans and anything I want out of a wrecked Town Car. My thoughts are to take all the wiring, the fuel pump, brake m/c (I have c/v frt suspension in my Slick) and the rear axle.
Any advice or suggestions on this installation especially the wiring and electronics would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Doug

Be a very cool combination if you are up to modifying the EEC harness to make it work. The 4.6 is a very cool engine, my 05 Mustang GT had the 3 valve version in it. If you can pull it off go for it I'd say.

the actual efi part although tedious is relatively simple. At the end of the day your worried about finding two wires - start , run.
Any of the others like the guages n such are irrelevant cuz they wont mate to your existing guages, and your likley to use aftermarket anyways.
Or you could use the entire wiring, guages etc from the towncar - a lot of work but maybe a nice end product if it can be adapted to the truck dash. Seems GArbz has done this once with a truck pc/wiring.
I have about 27 hours total in my wiring harness stripping out unnecesary wires n such, and shortening to fit the truck, but no cost,
Now if you wish to use the AODe or E4ode then your into the trans computor etc, and possibly the interconnected abs system.
It is worth the money to buy an aftermarket standalone pc for the trans rather than get into this mess or better yet buy a standard trans from a Mustang so you dont need the trans computoir at all.
My next efi swap will be a modular truck engine so I can have the BIG one lol, swap a mustang pc and trans and it should be an awesum piece when done if my current 5.0 and AOD are any indication.
