New guy in NC

Post by wndsofchng06 »

Hello all! I just bought my first slick. I've always owned bumps. It's a 1963 f100, long bed, 223 with 4 speed. I hope to pick it up this week.

Now I just have to control my ADD and focus on this truck. I'm going to try to keep it mostly stock. Maybe some mild motor mods, and of course safety upgrades like a dual reservoir master and seat belts. I also have new tires for it. Usually I get an old truck and start fixing something, then go " well while I've get this taken apart, I might as well...... " Then suddenly I have a pile of parts. I'm going to make the safety upgrades then drive this one for the season and decide any other mods after some good cruising time.

Welcome from Indiana. welcome.gif

Nice straight truck you've latched on to. I think your plan to keep it on the road as much as possible is a good one, too.

Got her home today. Guess I was a little over excited when I first bought it. I'm missing the tailgate, and there's a fair amount of bondo on the body. No rust through though... Just crap body work! Already converted to a dual master, and tuned up. My drivers side window is gone, and the passenger's vent window frame is broken at the base. :cussing: the hunt for parts begins!

Just learned from number dummy that I have a t98 4spd transmission and 3.89 rear gears. Thanks! Also stuck my new wheels on. Now to try to get that beast of a transmission back in the truck!

Welcome to the site from N.W. Ohio. You have a good base to start on with that truck.

Got the clutch, transmission, and starter back in today. She fired right up..... But now the Bendix is stuck! No amount of hammering seemed to work. Oh well, beer thirty now!
