Identifying a CV Front End

Could someone explain how to tell (without having the car as a reference) if a CV front end was removed from P71 Police Interceptor or standard car?

I have the opportunity to purchase the front end shown below for $200, but I'm not sure if it is from the correct year range and if it is compatible with my 64 F100.

Is this a good buy for $200?

I think the only difference between civilian and cop cv suspension was the rate on the coil springs. Don't take this as bible verse, it just what I remember from somewhere. You might see if you can get a part number off them and run it. I think fords had paper tags on there springs, you might be SOL since they tend to disintegrate over time.

I agree with 65styleside on the springs..
Those sections of frame rail being included is a plus... you'll want to cut out and reuse the bolt sleeves as they are threaded.

I've noticed two different types of upper frame mounts. One looks to be aluminum and one style is steel.

Any idea why the two types? Does this have anything to do with the Police Interceptor vs the standard CV?

Different years; the later years reverted to steel.

On the two Crown Vics I've owned the 2003 had alum top brackets and the 2004 had steel.

Both were Police Interceptors.
