Hello all,
So sooner rather than later I will be trying to replace the pin on my 64 f100 driver door hinge.
This will be my first time doing this.
Does any know of a relatively easy way of doing this or doing it in general?
Pictures would be appreciate. Lol
Thanks

Re: 64 f100 door hinge pin
Is it just that the pin is worn or the hole too?

Re: 64 f100 door hinge pin
Good question.
I think it's just the pine.

If it is just the pin it is a fairly easy fix. If it is the hole then you have to deal with enlarging the hole for over sized pin.

Re: 64 f100 door hinge pin
Do I need to remove the hinge to take out the pin?
Re: 64 f100 door hinge pin
You can do the repair without removing the hinge but you will have to support the door from the bottom. It is easier to do the repair with the door removed because you have better access with the door removed. You should replace both hinge pins and bushings while your at it.Tigger! wrote:Do I need to remove the hinge to take out the pin?

Re: 64 f100 door hinge pin
Yes I have both. What tools will be needed? Are there any locks I should know about?
Can't remember are there pins on just the top hinge or both too and bottom?

Re: 64 f100 door hinge pin
Did mine off the truck. If the hole in the hinge is good and the pin is just worn, then you can probably do it on the truck. If the hinge pin hole is worn then best to do it off the truck. You'll need a big hammer, a punch, and a beer. If hole is worn a drill, a vise to push the new bushing in, and a beer. If you take them off the truck trace around them to make re-install easier.

Lol I like the way you think white97.
The "beer" part is the best part.
Ok so I kind of have an idea.
I might try it this weekend.
Wish me luck.
