New Porterbuilt IFS Crossmember Pics!

Post by theastronaut »

Porterbuilt Fabrication just posted new pics of their F100 front and rear suspension kits. These have been the standard for Chevy C10's for years, and he's about to start selling these for F100's. If you're in the market for an IFS crossmember, then this is the way to go.

still not giving pricing though. says everything to build them is DONE. current lead time of 10 weeks. about what I would expect. I still think there are better alternatives but if you wanted bolt in(pretty sure the rear is weld in) it's a hell of an option...ken...

That is real nice looking for the front. I am actually pretty pissed that this wasn't available when I did mine because it would have saved me money in the end grrr.

I would like to know prices as well, however as much as I like the looks of our trucks lowered thats a bit low for me. Anything that makes me cut up the bed just seems a bit much for my needs.

The fabrication looks good, but I would have a hard time trusting a clip that bolts to a relatively small portion of frame rail in that way (because of of the frame, not the clip). It just seems like the bolts would have a tendency to work loose when going from a stiff clip to the noodly stock frame rails with an awful lot of leverage on the joints. That said, it would be easy enough to fill the holes, drill for some plug welds, and weld the thing up solid, even easier if they offered a kit already like that. I'm curious to see how it would clear larger engine choices like big blocks and mod motors with the narrowed rails.
