Hood springs

anyone know by chance, what the spring tension is in our hood hinges?

and is it measured in pounds per inch like most coil springs

My grandpa had a hand held scale to weigh square bails. Think that would work to get tension on a fixed measurement.

No idea what it is, but it can be calculated given measurements of the wire diameter, the diameter of the spring body, and the number of coils.
