I sold my Ranger,
I just didn't want to deal with $135 starters, alternators and all the other expensive crap.
I also wanted the simplicity of a good old carbed truck.
I also wanted a full size truck.
I bought this 79 F 150 LWB Custom a week ago today;
302, C4, Power steering, power brakes, A/C.
I had to fix some stuff, nothing expensive.
Rust in the bedsides is far too typical around here but the cab is SOLID!
I'll coat the underside, fix the A/C, fix the bed and paint her - With the stripes!
This is my DD now, couldn't be happier (well if the 64 was done maybe ).
I will probably leave the Rodmasters on her and run Steelies on the 64.
Anyway,
this is a pic I took Sunday;
1964 F 100 - I am going to do "something" with it.......

. '' I think what scares me the most about you guys is that I understand you '' ..... KID
'' lookin good, a little paint adds at least 100hp!'' ....... COOTER
'' well an old guy can dream cant he? ''............ICEMAN
''I would donate organs before selling my slick''........ HOOFBEAT RACER
Yeah, P J O'Rourke is one of my favorite automotive writers since Tom McCahill, but he flat missed it on this one with his remarks in Hagerty's mag. '57/60 hoods looked like a "comb-over" while '61/64 "a bad hat brim" No comment on '65/66, probably just as well

Great trucks Greg, I finally handed down "grumpy" the 78 F150 my dad bought new with a gazillion miles on it to my brother in law. I loved that ol pickup, but he was pretty worn out and my brother beat it up pretty good and he wanted to fix it up so its his now.
