Gas Tanks and Spare Tires, What Goes Where?

On my short box Uni I'd very much like to move the gas tank out of the cab. I'd also like to carry the spare tire along with me without it rattling around loose in the bed screaming STEAL ME! STEAL ME!
To top it off, the previous owner of my Uni routed the dual exhaust between the frame rails, so that would need to be moved to install a rear tank. I'm ok with that.
How have you all handled these things.
[ Yes I know that people safely drove millions of miles with tanks in the cab, but I'm a coward, OK :D ]

I took my orig tank out and turned it around and mounted it against the front of the box. The fill is on the right side now, I had a cover built to go over it and protect it from any thing that might bump into it that was in the box

There are members who have also mounted Crown Vic gas tanks against the front of the bed . They stand somewhat upright like our slick tanks.

Steve is moving his factory tank to the front of the bed and even moved the gas filler back on the side of the truck .

Original owner moved spare tire mount to the rear. Not many know the difference.

Can't help with the fuel tank, mine is still in the cab.
But when I bought my '66, it had the same "spare rolling around in the bed asking to be stolen" issue. My truck came with an in-bed spare mount, but the bottom was completely rusted away. I found an NOS replacement mount online. Then I fabbed up a locking mount, which is just a piece of all-thread that I drilled a hole in, and a small padlock.
Here's a pic of the new spare mount, next to (what was left of) the old one.
And here's a pic of the locking setup:

Mike391; That bracket bolts to the floor and box top rail?

Yes, exactly. Bolts to the floor of the bed and the top rail. Mine is on the passenger side just behind the cab, but I've seen them mounted on the D/S and towards the rear.

Wonder if that was owner preference. My original mount was ds forward. I have seen them under the tail end but didn't recognize style from any late model truck. Factory or dealer installed maybe?
