Ignition switch bezel same as mustang?

Post by frdnut »

I have been told the 64-66 mustang bezel (C3AZ-11584A) is the same as the slick pickups? Anyone know if this is true?

I donno, but nice bezels for our slicks are available on ebay for cheap. I bought one and it looks quite nice. Made in china is the only drawback. JMHO!

I went to Mustangs Unlimited and had them take one out for me. They look exactly the same. In 67 Ford went to the double sided key on the Mustang so those are different.

I too fell for this trap, although mine was from MACS. I've been pretty impressed with their service and shipping speed, parts have been great all except that bezel and the dash knobs.
It looks ok the outside and it will work, but it does sit a bit funny on the ignition switch. It relies on the ignition barrel to keep it all aligned correctly.

I know the mustang one has the ignition barrel sitting a bit further out (flush with the bezel) the macs/eBay ones tend to sit a bit deeper in the bezel. My existing bezel is the wrong one so I don't know which one is correct.

I bought a mustang one, the inside diameter is the same as the truck one but the outside diameter is much smaller on the mustang one, the truck one is available but, the quality was poor on the macs one I bought, I was lucky enough to find a truck one NOS. John
