Front Spring bushings

Post by "Whitey Ford" »

Anyone know the correct part numbers or a good source to get all the correct front spring bushings (the leaf and top shackle one) for a 62 F100? I noticed Dennis carpenter has the kit but for 200 bucks. I just need the bushings and not the hangars but if need be i guess ill get it. Was going to order from NAPA but wanted to make sure i had the right part numbers.

Just a word of advise..... I ordered all the bushings and bolts from LMC and I took my springs to a local spring shop to have a couple of leafs repaired. I handed him all of the bushings and bolts for them to press in for me. They ended up using all of their own bushings and bolts and u bolts and didn't charge me much at all.

I worked my tail off trying to press out the old bushings on the front before that and installed the new ones from LMC. after putting them in the freezer for a couple of days, and all the time it took to put the new ones in, They removed the rears and re-installed new for around $30.00 It just wasn't worth it.

But if you still want to do them your self I would get them from LMC you can get everything seperately

For all the money, energy, and time spent trying to go original, I would either follow shaff64 s advise, or struggle with removing the old bushings and replace with the new poly bushings. they are much cheaper, a breeze to put in, and give a much firmer ride.

No im going to bring it all to a machine shop / leaf spring shop to have them replaced with the exception of the one shackle bushing that i cant take off my truck. I just wanted to see if there was somewhere i could get the kit but seems 200 was way too much.

I checked LMC but the pictures didnt show the top shackle bushing for the 61 - 64
