More opinions needed

Post by Uncle Skip »

I told you I was building LED tail lights for my flair side and I'll post a "how to" with pictures when they get finished.
But I need some opinions on color.
As you know, Nadine is going to be all white with some small red pin striping on the nose and tailgate, and a little chrome on the head light buckets in the front and a stainless bumper in the rear.
There are red reversed steelies with beauty rims and stainless dog dish hub caps.
What I "plan" to do is paint the tail light housings white to match the body color and use stainless brackets.
Or should I paint them original black...... or ???????
I'm not arguing with you. I'm just explaining why I'm right.
Pardon me. Does your deaug bite?

I'd vote for body color.
If you understand what you’re doing, you’re not learning anything.

Id go with white too. I think it'll give it a nice finished look.

IMO the taillights are not a focal point of the truck. They should blend in and not be obtrusive. Stainless to match the bumper is a good choice.

For sure you dont want them to stand out like a rotating disco light.

Ive never heard anyone say "I have this bitchin set of taillights, Im looking for a truck to build around them".

Skip I think I agree with Ice, keep the light housings and brackets stainless.
Clean, no maintenance, and no corrosion. Nuff said! TR

Skip I think I agree with Ice, keep the light housings and brackets stainless.
Clean, No Maintenance, and No Corrosion. Especially the "No Corrosion" part.
I'd like to do my 56 longbed truck like that whenever the time comes along.
Sure does keep it looking good for a long time. TR

Its good to see you getting so much done though, look forward to leanin on that truck one of these days... You know, only a select few trucks become true leaners at a Slickstock event.

Skip, I've been debating the stainless tail light thing for a long time. I have a new set for Baby that I bought years ago, but have wondered if those are to glitzy. One of these days, I will get around to the 64 again and finish it.

I agree with Ice as well. The stainless will tie in with your bumper and the brackets you're going to use. It will reflect a lot of the paint color and surroundings so it might blend better than being painted.
