F100 Show in Moultrie GA Nov 16-18

Post by bmcgc »

Im heading down Saturday morning to the swap meet/show.

Im hoping to drive the 66, but I havent had much road time and am a little nervous about making the 260 mile roundtrip.

I want a hood and core support and some misc stuff, to much to fit in the wifes Cailber or my Harley.

Anyone else plannign on making the swapmeet?

Is it a F100 swap meet or just a all around swap meet?

Swap meet was a bust if you wanted F100 parts, a huge success if you wanted Chevy parts.

What few F100 parts were there were in poor condition and way over priced.

350 miles round trip, a pocket full of cash, 3 hours of walking dragging the misses along with me, and I spent $25 on an oem owners manual. I owe her big time.

If you have ever gone to the Pomona swap meet, and are a Ford guy. Its like you are in Hell. There are acres and acres of parts consisting of 99% GM parts and 1% of Ford parts. Of those 1%, 0% are anything you'd ever want to pay money for.

BM,
Buying a complete parts car or truck is a lesson I've had to teach myself over & over. As advanced years are creeping up on me I decided I did after all want power steering on my '66.
A really rusty '79 showed it's self to me a month or so back. I was pretty sure I could buy the glider for $300, worked out I could & right after the first frost, I did. The cab and front clip along with a mystery radiator went to scap iron, net $124.00, it had a small block C6 just sitting in it, sold as core $50.00, a pretty decent front bumper brought $25,00. The pick up bed trailer will bring $250.00.
I picked up power steering, power disc brakes, a front sway bar and a factory tilt column
for the '66. Net price on the parts "a little bit of labor". Along with a hundred fifty in folding money. Parts trucks, got to love them.
