Slick 60's

My 66 and I were running out of town to check on a used window screen I needed, and as I left town I noticed a problem. The engine started missing when I accelerated. Well it was only a mile or two out to where I was going so I went on. The missing kept getting worse, so once I was there, I looked under the hood. I found antifreeze all over the front of motor and distributer. Couldn't imediately find the leak so headed back to town. Had a hard time getting the truck to start, and she was misfiring badly. Just as I got into town, she misfired and blew up the muffler. Kablooey , ruptured it wide open. Apparently enough fuel had collected in the muffler to blow it apart when she misfired. Managed to get it home and located the offending hose on top of intake. The heater hose was soft and cracked where the clamp was, so it was blowing antifreeze directly on the distributer. Replaced that section of hose cleaned the cap out and fired right up. Today, I get to change the muffler.

Being as I have sveral trucks parked around here in pieces and parts, I decided to take something off a parts truck and make it work. Weeeelllllll, several hours later and a lot of revamping and I got the job done. I now have a cherry bomb on the dirvers side instead of the stock round type that was on there. I now have to redo the other side to use the other cherry bomb on that side. Surprisingly, 3 of the trucks had cherry bombs and duals. Wondering how long it will take before I get stoped and cited for the offending noise. Sure sounds good from inside the cab with the one and a burnt out standard muffler on the oposite side. It also has a burnt out tailpipe on the oposite side, which I did not know, untill I crawled under the truck. So I will be doing the other one soon. Just as sooon as I change the plugs on the wife's Lexus, along with cleaning the throttle body, and it's time to change the timing belt with 80K on it. Then my daughters blazer went down on her, and it's electrical so I took it to Ace's garage to find out what is wrong with it. Speedo is jumping around and tranny won't shift out of first most of the time, and second is all she has even then. Hopefully, I won't be having to pull a transmission from a Four wheel dirve . Still haven't cleaned up the mess from sandblasting my grandsons truck body ( long story, don't buy Sherman Williams crappy paint). I've also got to put the mirror back on my aunts 95 Lincoln becuase someone did some poor boy engineering sometime before they bought it. It was only held on with one bolt and the plastic part broke off. The other bolt had been fixed with some dumdum, and was kinda stuck in or on. I doubt that my repair will hold, but we will see. Now I have to take the door apart and cut my hands up getting to the bolt to tighten it up. In addition, someone took a piece out of the back door, and did not replace it. My aunt and uncle are good people , I don't normally go to this extreme for just anybody. Somewhere in there, I have to take the time to replace my grandsons front header panel where he hit a deer. This hass to be done by monday, as he has gotten a job, Monday is his first day of work. My other grandson is supposed to be over Monday to help me work on his truck. I have to get that cleaned up and all the black sandblasting craap out of it and the shop cleaned up and ready for painting. Hopefully, I will get to do some priming done on the places I sand blasted, this coming week. I'm looking forward to gong to work out of state, SOON.
