Slick 60's

Hello fellow truckers. Mike is my name and somehow I wound up with 3 Slicks. Two big window unis and a '64 Longbed. My favorite has always been my '62 and it is getting a 352 transplant from a late sixties truck. It could also be a 360 I guess - I do not know how to tell the difference:)
I look forward to talk trucks with you guys and gals.

That picture was taken at the previous owner's house. The Alfa was the reason he sold the truck.
But you are right. Those Italian cars have nice lines.

Thank You Anthony! That truck always puts a smile on my face when I walk up to it. The red top attracted me to it when I saw it on ebay 10 years ago.

As to your 352 maybe being a 360, you can tell the difference by the stroke.
Pull any plug and use a stiff wire to measure the stroke.
3.5" is a 352, and 3.75-ish is a 360 or a 390.
The bore on a 352 is 4.00".
The bore on a 360 or a 390 is 4.05".
Essentially, the 360 is a 390 block with a 352 rotating assembly. You can convert a 360 to a 390 by transplanting a 390 crank, rods and pistons.
Unfortunately, there is no way to externally identify the differences between a 360/390, as everything on FEs is generally interchangeable.
I have a 460 in my '66 - there is no replacement for displacement!

Thank You Banjopicker! That is a great tip. The FE motor that I have had been recently rebuilt but delivered lousy mileage so the previous owner put a 302 roller motor and AOD in his crewcab shortbed bumpside. Must have worked out well as I see him drive all over the place.

That's what I have in my 64 with a T5,
I will probably someday change it to a built 300-6 with an AOD like I originally planned.
