well heres my story this pickup has not been here too long in australia bought it from an asshat who said it was running and had reco brakes .went it arrived the carb was in the back and the peddle went to the floor not a drop of fluid in it .The asshats also picked it up with a fork lift and Farked the sills .The engine has had a rebuild with a can of ford blue paint .
On the bright side i finally have a longbed unibody its the truck i have always wanted now to get her going :!:
The truck had a 3 spd column shift which is missing i have a T10 in the shed so i'm gonna try to fit that in it .Has anyone done this conversion? are Yblock passenger car bellhousings different to truck bellhousings?
If i cant get the Y block running i have a 390 and auto in the shed i can put in just got to work out some kind of mounts .The truck has a factory radio and heater which is a plus and its red and whit my favourite colours.

Welcome to the madness
The asshat also switched the column to the right side of the vehicle. Allen will surely arrive to show you how its supposed to be!
You might want to run the build number because that sure looks like a 62 grill.
I would love to see some more pictures, it appears to be in sweet condition.
There is a site that will address the 292 issues called 'yblocksforever' and yes there is a difference between a truck bell and a passenger car bell, also between a three speed bell and a four speed bell. see if you can track down a shop manual for that year truck (61 with 62-63 update manual) you can buy one on cd if a hard copy is not available down under

It does not matter what you think, it only matters what you do about it!
