found these in the street today.... what are they used for?

i think i know what there used for. anyone know for sure?

Safety wire pliers. You put stainless wire in a bolt head and it automatically twists the wire to secure the bolt in place. Mostly used in avation, but race teams use them too.
I'll give you 10 bucks for them and pay the shipping. :wink:

Take a loop of wire through somthing, clamp the two loose ends in the jaws of the pliers, and pull the little knob on the back of the pliers and watch what happens.

i figured it was for twisting wire but it's nothing like the one i bought for motorcycles 20 years ago.

Those came with my new tool kit. I started aviation school this october with all of the new goodies that are needed just to get started. :lol:

i've got two sizes of those and will never use them. lol. i even have a couple canisters of wire.

I always thought it was an easy, logical process to correctly install safety wire. After watching several of the You tube videos, I'm thinking there are a lot of "mechanics" who never learned "righty tighty, lefty loosey"
