Sale or Trade my "Ranger"

Post by Lee's 64 »

I have a 1965 "Ranger" that I need to sale or maybe trade. I have three boys. Me, my wife and the boys cant fit. Ive had it for about 7 years and its just been sittin. Havent had the guts to sell it because I know how rare they are and I havent seen to many 65's. But its time. Its in restorable condition with a 352 factory 4bbl and posi rearend. Its a shortbed with the small utility lockable box on the passenger side. I havent done anything to it but like most projects, it needs work. One dent in the front left corner fender and the bed floor is in pretty bad shape. Other than that, its in pretty good shape. The bucket seats and console are gone. I was told by the 2nd owner that a farmer bought the truck new. Didnt like the buckets and after 3 or 4 months and bought a bench seat to replace it. Put all that in the barn, and well we all know what happens to things in the barn........yes! Lightning hits barn, Barn burns down. Everything lost. I know its a real "Ranger". It has the badging on the fenders and from what I remember, I saw the factory holes in the floor from the seats and console. I have already restored one Slick, a 64, and this one is in alot better shape than my 64 starting out. It would make a great truck. I believe the factory color was red. Its in primer now. I feel bad that it just sittin there. So Im going to let someone else enjoy building this rare slick. If you are thinking trade, maybe a 64-65 Falcon. Or 65-66 Comet. Or 50s Ford/Mercury. Im thinking about the family. Nothing newer than 1970. If interested, lets talk!!!!!!!!!!!

First off, Im asking 1K OBO for the truck. Second, yes your right BYR. This should have been put in the classified section. But I didnt think about that at the time. I hope you didnt spend too much time reading something that you didnt want to read in the first place. Third, Im not sure if is a factory 4bbl or not. It looks factory to me! Im not up on all the production numbers like you are. It is what it is. Lets see if this helps. The title says that the truck was made in 1965. It say "FORD" in the front and rear. On the sides it says "F100 Ranger".It is of the short bed type, not the long type. It also has something on the side that you might be able to put tools in. Under the hood their is something that could be a motor of some type. It has 4(four) wires coming out on each side. That would make 8(eight), that I do know(2x4=8). On the top their is 4(four) holes. Maybe where a carburator might go. Inside there is 3(three) levers hanging down under the dash that you might be able to put your feet on. Other than that it is a pretty solid vehicle of movement. If you are interested and your name is not BYR. Please send me a PM. Im working on pics. The truck is down on my father-in-laws farm. Sorry about not having pics. LEE

Good job Lee's64. That is just too funny. I do have a question. Are the valve stems all original and do thier numbers match those of the cigar lighter and the left rear brake line? This is very important for a stickler to details like myself. Thanks for your help in this most urgent matter, Lyman.

So you have a truck that's at someone else's farm. You claim is a ranger but really not sure. You have no pictures but would like to sale it instead of sell it. Next we will find out its at the bottom of a pond because you tried to sail it. The bench seat is there but not sure if it ever had buckets. We have a WINNER! A good way to sail something for sure... does it have floats on it? The 4v looks original and so does the bench seat? This is not craigslist by the way.

Man....all this "Ranger" talk makes me wonder if mine is real or not. I dont have seats or a console. The story I got is that a farmer got a good deal on the truck and bought it. Then he didnt like the buckets and bought a bench seat to put in. What do farmers do with that kinda stuff? Yes, he hung it in his barn. What happens to barns u ask. They burn down!!!!!! That was the story I got from the 2nd owner of the truck. Other than checking DSO #'s and all that stuff, thats all I got. But when I found the truck it had the "Ranger" badging and 352 with factory 4bbl. Posi rearend and short bed with small storage box. I had never seen that before and I thought it might be something special. So I bought it. $800.00 Besides, the man was going to part it out. So I saved another Slick! What does all this mean............I dont know! But I love the conversation!

If it is at the bottom of a POND how do you know it has a POSI? So you checked the door tag, claim its a Ranger but really not sure. NICE!

Whats the color combo? I heard it was sky-blue PINK with Earth Brown Green stripes.
