Slick 60's

I have all of the parts ready to go back into the truck but still lack painting the inside. I'm going out right now to scuff the primer and then I'm painting and clearing it tomorrow morning early before it gets hot.

Although this has taken a lot longer than I expected, it is probably going to turn out nicer.

I should have everything reinstalled by Sunday and it will be drivable. I'm not going to put the heater back in it yet though. I'm going to loop the heater hoses. I still need to disassemble the heater box, paint, and get a new heater core (while I'm in there).

The power steering is put on hold. I got laid off a couple of weeks ago so I'll wait until winter to that when I reemployed. BTW, the layoff was a positive event. I was looking for a new job anyway. I've been in senior/exec IT leadership positions for the past 12 years. I don't anticipate a problem finding work.

That does look great. I got mine disassembled to. Did you blast and paint or did you powder coat?

I spent about 2 hours with a wire wheel and my drill and stripped a bunch of parts. I used Rustoleum self etching primer and gloss black.

Yep. The bushing is supposed to be there. It helps limit the "squeek-squak" when using the clutch.
They tend to break and fall out due to the force of the spring.

Yes! Jonas, who I bought the truck from made the bracket when he installed the power front brakes.

Okay, I have some update pictures. What a freaking day though.

I had 3 cans of Caribbean Turquoise and knew it would be enough. So I ordered more from the same place, Automotive Touchup. I used the first three cans that I had and when I started on the 4th can, it looked too blue.

I called them up and they told me I ordered Pagoda Green. I ordered Ford paint code B. There were three Ford B paint code colors and none of them were Pagoda Green. I ordered the same exact way as the last time. After arguing with them for 30 minutes, they are sending me the right paint on their dime. They also told me the paint they use is Sherwin Williams Automotive Acrylic Urethane.

I went to the SW auto paint store 3 miles from my house and bought a quart of acrylic enamel (one step). Then I went to Home Depot and bought the best gravity feed gun they had ($100, actually pretty nice). I re-sanded the interior with a fine scotch brite pad, vacuumed it, tack clothed it, and sprayed on the enamel.

I should have done that from the very beginning. Covers nicer and it is much quicker to paint. It has been 20 years since I've used an air sprayer but it turned out great.
