Learned something new at the school of slicks today. Bought a 61 grille. I knew the headlight buckets were rusty. I thought between the 5 grilles I have between 63 and 66 id be ok. Wrong. 61 is totally different. Oh well now im smarter. :lol:

I did not know that. I need some chrome one's for my 61 BBW, but that's way down the road. How are they different?

Its not the headlight doors but the actual bucket they mount in.

Ok.....

So I have a '65 with a '61 grille. I also ave a '65 grille that will eventully get chromed and installed.

What issues am I gonna run into?

you gonna put the 65 grille in and give me the headlight parts out of the 61 grille.

Don't get excited Kenny, he said "eventually". That's probably a long time in "slick years" :-). BTW: How are they different? Maybe they're similar to the 58-60 buckets? Got a picture?

My 63 up grilles have brackets on them that the part the headlight mounts to attatches to. :? The 61 has ? buckets that attatch to the grille then the headlight mounting thingys attatch to them. Hows that for technical! how many years are in a slick year?

i found that out too kenny when i went to install my new headlight relays. the hole in the bucket is only big enough for the wires to pass through and there is a grommet. couldn't get the plug in ends through those grommets.
