Brake warning light wiring

Doing a disc/drum M/C conversion and my prop valve has the warning switch. Did the stock '66 pickups have a warning switch and if so, where would it be located and can I use the same wiring. If not, how would I go about wiring it up? Thanks for any help. :)

I have it and don't use it. You will need a seperate bulb and wiring. The pressure differential caused by a drop in pressure on one side causes the valve to move and this grounds and completes the circuit thus turning the light on. Too high tech for me!

66's did not have this so no wiring exists. Putting one in is easy and potentially usefull, I would hate to be the one who actually used it! LOL If you have a single connector wire on the pressure differential switch it is a grounding style. That is to say, when the valve slides, it grounds the terminal. On this style you would use an insulated bulb mount that has one wire with power going to it when the key is on and the other wire would go to the contact on the pressure switch. The other style uses two terminals and on this style the housing for the bulb is grounded and power goes to the switch on one post and then to the bulb on the other post. Either way it is an easy hookup and just one more minor improvement on an old truck. BTW, you can use a parking brake light assembly for the warning light, it is a very clean way to do it. Hawkrod

Hawkrod, What park brake light assy are you referring to here? :dontknow: Is that from a later model truck or was that light assy on the 66?
