Valve Cover Racers

Started my valve cover racer today.

Going to use my 223 cover.

I (unlike others) will be adhearing to the 10# limmit.

i am going to attempt to fabricate mine entirely from parts found on a slick.

I think you are just supose to use the cover.

Depends if its open or closed heads and how much port and polish there has been done!

I will say mine was not the heaviest one there at Altoona. Craig's boys had me beat on that. Was full off rocks! Dan did an excellent job of setting up the ladder for pairing everyone up. I guess you know that'll be your job from now on, Dan! We just run what ya brung and have a great time. Truckfarmer almost got me this year. It was a close one. Might need to put a "coon tune" on the "Tank" for next time. Got a couple of other Real Ford Covers I am planning to build to bring next time. Hoped to bring them this time, but I didn't have all the materials I needed. Maybe next time we can have a kid's division too. They sure got into it.

Using these for the wheels. (Aircraft Pullies) Going to put O-Rings in the grove.

They should roll very well. Cover looks good too. TR

Not sure what they are. But they do roll very smooth.

If anyone needs them for something else, I can get them used at the yard here for a few bucks a peice.

Those are Aircraft Control Cable Pullys. I have a few of them for my airplane projects. They do come in various sizes, if you wanted to make different size 'wheels'. If you can get them for a couple bucks, do it, cause they are very expensive new. They do have a ball bearing in the middle so they have very little turning resistance.

Slick Stock 5 Valve Cover Race Rules

1. The valve cover racer must not damage the track in any way.

2. The valve cover racer should not require an Enveronmental Impact Study with the EPA.

Yep. Sure do.

3" are 1.90 and 4" are 2.25 I think. They get different sizes all the time.
