Shackle pivots?

Post by Greg D »

The rubber was shot in the ones on the 250. I am thinking of sleeving them with maybe brass and greasing them good. Thoughts?

thats how the big trucks are.
they have a hollow bolt with a grease fitting and 90* hole off the center for the grease to get into the bushing.
be easy to make.

i have thought about doing the same thing. not quite made it to doing the spring bushings yet though.

For a whopping 8 bucks each for new rubber replacements why bother?. They will last another forty years.

Till you have custom oil impregnated bronze bushings made and the bolt it will be five times the cost of rubber.

Give him a day Dave...he has been sniffing POR all day. He might not be thinking clearly yet.

I agree with Dave. Ne w Rubber will last just fine. $10 or less just makes it that much better.
