clogged drain

Post by DukeRoche »

I went out to my new garage and saw that water had built up around the drains. I tried a snake but it didn't help much. Any suggestions for a cheap way to do this? This is of the utmost importance because thats where the Green Machine will be stored with all its parts. Any help would rule

Why didn`t the snake work?, are these old drains or new, where do they go to?, any pic`s of the location?

You say it's a NEW garage. New construction or just new to you? Has it drained previously? If new construction it may be that some concrete or other debris has blocked the drain? Just a thought.

Now if you only had a nice air compressor. :-)

Actually the snake must have worked cause I went out an hour later and it had gone down and has since disappeared. But a new air compressor would be nice. Not sure how old the garage is but I know the house is 30 years old and the garage is much newer then that. Will post pics if problem continues.

With a new air compressor, you could blow out that clog instead of using a snake. Use that one to justify it with the wife.

is it still cold where you are?
Chances are, the floor drain runs out under the yard and ends in a bed of gravel. I tend to think maybe it was/is too frozen to drain well

I don't think I would point an air hose into that muck and pull the trigger, lol.
There is a drain cleaner out there that hooks to your garden hose. It's a rubber bladder with a pressure seal in it, it swells up and after the pressure gets high enough it will then release into the pipe, blows the clog out. I have seen them a few places HF has them.
