You can by direct bolt ins now if you don't mind the price. You need to use the latest TKO's as the early T5'S won't take the torque of a FE.

Bill although I have respect for the FE's 390 and larger, I would not classify myself as a big FE fan, so I personally would not shell out for that.

But I thought it might be handy info for our other members, if there was a simple adapter to a S10 tranny or something (y'know "frugal" Ford truck owners et al)

PSSST! That has a new TREMEC TKO in it! You can tell by the Tremec script on the very front of the transmission and the fact that it has two inspection covers in front of the shifter.

Tremec also makes a front shift conversion that places the shifter on the forward inspection cover. That is exactly what I have in my Green truck.

Too bad they hacked the hell out of the floor. Stock three speed truck, saveable with a four speed style removeable section. I had to do the same trick.

Hey El Polacko, I want to run a new TKO behind a 351W in my 65, how did you setup your linkage, a hydaulic conversion or cable conversion or a custom z bar? I assume you like the 5spd!?! Thanks Mark

my dog could chew a cleaner hole than that.
far as im concerned its not worth much more than the high bid.
no issues with the 390 or the 5 speed but it could have been made more presentable by the simple installation of a 4 speed hump.battery box does not look to healthy either.
worst truck to do that to, a swb fridge bed.i think a uni or a 64 would have been a better choice.
