Post by 61ford »

i just picked up my 04 k member today and they didnt have the upper and lower control arms, anyone know where to get these?this junkyard was the only one in town that had the k member.also do you all use the stock crown vic coil springs we thought that we may need a heavier spring?

The Crown Vic has a lot more overhang than our trucks. When I had the cab and bed on my CV chassis, the camber was real close to normal (eyeballing it). My guess is, the stock springs should be fine.

What did they soak you for the K-member?
PakRat in Victoria put me on them when they first came out. I've been looking ever since for a police car donor.
I would think the springs would be O.K. as is.
Should be a great modification.
Progress pictures please.

I put the CV column in mine. Still need to get another u-joint to get it hooked up, but it worked. Had to shorten it about 4 inches, and am working on a cover, but here's a pic:

Others have hooked up the stock column with joints, here's Fanatics:

There was a yard here in Omaha a while back that had a couple K members that were cracked, they still had the upper & lower arms and the springs. Here is their phone # 402-731-4592 Kosiski Auto Parts is their name.

Only thing I can think of is one would be for HiPo versions like police cars and the other would be for gramma's vic. I would think if you got all the arms from the same version you would be good. Maybe FBP will know and will chime in. Might try a dealer service for the question but when I called one yesterday to ask where the main power panel was in my 93 stang I started a debate between 3 mechanics on whether it even had one and where. The service writer laughed and asked if there was anything else they could do for me and I said "Nope, I have done enough damage for one day", lol. :rotflmao: :dancing:
