i put this up on the 460 forum and thought maybe you guys would want to check it out too. it should be a fun little car when we are done.

my brothers calypso green vert. it was a 4 cyl we scored for cheap because it didnt run. using parts i already had and his parts store discount we are throwing this thing together pretty cheaply. so far its just about ready to reassemble. its going to have the 351w AOD and 8.8 with 3:73 gears. its got a 5 lug disc brake swap on all 4 corners and a v8 steering rack.

1974 351w block still at machine shop after like 5 weeks or so...

forged aluminum pistons and sir rods on a stock crank with D0 heads with a small cam.

daily driver, no hassels, maybe some spray... maybe.

i think you're gonna need sub-frame connectors. lol

Chris is dead on, get some good weld in subframe connectors.
Cool project - I always liked the Calypso Coral verts with the white top.
You can get almost anything you can imagine for a foxstang - have fun.

its on the list.

being my brothers project i have reigned him in from a 408 stroker in the lil vert. he was talking boost and stroked and all kinds of stuff... he gets salty when i tell him its just a vert foxbody and even with the subframes tied together there is a such thing as too much power for it.

reviewing a desktop dyno...

the 351w will be about 330 hp 4500 to 5500 414 TQ at 2500 falling off around 5000. its all pretty flat and right where we need it to be for a driver.

not too bad for a small cam and stock 1970 heads eh? its not a "racecar" or anything just a fun lil daily driver with some power and reliability built in. not spinning it to 5000 to get the power should make it quick too.

Sounds like a cool plan to me. That combo should be perfect for what it will be used for. I just got a black/black 93 5.0LX coupe to play with so I am a little biased to these little cars right now!

Sounds right on for a combo, you wouldn't want too much without getting into a fully built AOD anyway. Should be right in with a stock 8.8's limitations too.

thats the plan. we are mostly taking stuff we had laying around and making a car out of it.

a few craigs list scores, a couple of connections for the car and machine work... calling a few parts wholesalers and using a parts store discount... some ebay... jegs is down the street...

yeah its all coming together nicely, id say. alots easier faster and cheaper than the truck.

i just did a B and M shiftkit in the AOD not too long ago. do you have a link for what you have?

it is the rk-aod kit along with the aod pressure regulator boost valve kit. about 100$ worth of stuff. i'd like 20$ for it if you know anyone.
