We have been heating with wood since 1979. The best way to heat and we also use the top of the stove to cook with when ever possible. Back in 1993 we lost power for 7 days a rare event for Georgia, without the woodstove it would have unbearable.

Ice

We heat with wood here too. That sure is a nice cook stove. I grew up with a wood cook stove and mom sure loved it. I keep my eyes peeled for one they are getting hard to find these days and when you find one they want a fortune for them. We stocked up about 15 cords this year so I can spend more time in the shop finishing up the projects and getting ready for SS10.

took off the front clip today, only had to cut one bolt, holding the parking brake cable to the inner fender.

everything on the engine is loose its ready to be pulled out. going to try and get it out this weekend.

all my door and window parts came from Flashback f 100s , theres a bunch of work waiting on me.

thanks. i need to be doing some work to the 4x4 too.

i function fine here. we have a couple acres at the end of a road, pretty quiet and no hassles about the trucks.

temp was 40 yesterday, got the engine and trans pulled out of the uni.
carried the new trans inside to clean and paint.
got a lot of cleaning degreasing to do firewall, frame, and axle.

yes winter is here so mostly doing inside stuff now.

need to make a cover for this hole

Image

decided to cut that section out of a parts uni and make a removable cover like the 4 speed. not a problem but the drivers side was pretty rusty , the passenger side had a big crack and the center had bolt indents from the cab resting on the trans because the cab mounts were gone.

decided i would just cut pieces of the 4 speed hump and use them to fix the 3 speed cover.

bunch of cutting and welding and grinding.

still have some more work to do on it , hopefully my camera batterys will recharge.

your weather patterns sound familiar!! we have 14" total of snow here at work. We share the Ft. Nelson/Yukon border weather patterns. then about 3 or 4 days later, we get a milder version of the same weather at home in hines creek!
tuck all those parts away in a warm safe corner!! LOL
I put the front clip outside yesterday and thers already snow drifted up against it!

Lucky lucky lucky Alan, we don't get much snow here in Ga. My idea of a perfect snow is when it it on the ground when you wake up and gone by lunchtime!

decided i probably should get back to doing something on this.

brought in the hood and started sanding it, had some rust bubbles on the front lip in the usual spot, beat on them with a welding hammer, then they were holes.

found filler in the drivers front corner.

cut out the rusty spot 2" x 12" last night now theres a big rectangular piece missing.

now i need to go cut that section out of another hood and weld back in.

pics to follow.
