Sunday morning I got my pilot holes drilled and some of the 3/4 inch holes drilled in my shop floor to finish installing my new 4 post lift. Then I took my 66 out and drove it. Finally broke 300 miles! Only took me 3 years. Now that she is a high mileage truck I'll have to baby her, LOL. Kickdown is dropping gears too soon so I need to adjust the cable just a bit. Today was a 1/2 price day at pick and pull so I got another power steering gear box, proportioning valve, power brake booster bracket, c4 flexplate and inspection plate, and trasmission cross member since one of mine had been torched at some point to make it easier to bolt up. Made friends with another ford junkie into 67-72 ford trucks who was a pick and pull virgin until today. Maybe next 1/2 price day we will go pull off a disc brake front end or just go to a regular junk yard and get one.

I think I did fairly well at the LKQ today. This was the most crowded (and hottest) I've ever seen. We ran up on a 65 Long CC, and proceeded to strip it of all mouldings, except the Custom Cab lettering and the slightly damaged cowl mouldings. The only things already gone appeared to be the door pockets! After just talking with Skip about the escalating prices and BS at LKQ, I was pleased when the total was just over $25.00. For any Houston members who might be interested, this was at the Hiram Clarke location, just down the road from Paradise.

Getting ready to re-wire the truck. Have all the new goodies ready to go (EZ harness, RKE, distributor, alternator, and a couple secret goodies). Just waiting on the box with my indicator lights and connectors so i can finally start.

Went to the radiator shop as my '62's radiator is leaking. Guy said probably in the neighborhood of $500 !!! to recore mine with copper. Glad I picked up one from the junkyard and had it serviced a while back.

welded up the rusty areas above the drip rail and encapsulated the roof on the 61. ON the 66 I took a drive through the Maine back roads and added some oil!

Walked by, looked at the scratches and chips in my new paint from trying to mount my grill, growled, and walked away. Again.

Walked by, looked at the scratch from mounting my bumper, shook my head and said to myself; "well ,it could be lots worse, it could have looked like others i've seen".
'Bout the only advantage I've found to old school lacquer!

I installed a ride leveling system for my flipped axle slick.
The top of the axle kept hitting my wood bed, even without a load or trailer attached.
Now I am good to go.

Yesterday, I removed what was remaining of my old flareside beds floor, and sent it out to the media blaster, along with my hood....pictures to follow. I should have it back this afternoon or first thing in the morning

Spent the last two days working on the wiring. Progress is slow but coming along. Hoping to be running tomorrow and fully wired sans power windows and door locks by the end of the weekend
