The picture isn't very clear to me, so this may not be correct, but it looks to me like the port on the spacer isn't properly setup for the PCV valve. There should be a nipple screwed into that port.
It might be worth your time to pull the carb and spacer off to inspect it, and possibly have one threaded in, or even replace the spacer. Be sure to have spare gaskets available, though, if they tear coming off.
Best of luck on this to you.

That cast aluminum nipple is correct. When the truck is running----stick your finger (or toe) on that port. There should be lots of vacuum there. If not.....it is plugged in some way ..by PO or whatever and you'll probably have to take it off to see why.

Get a PCV for a 67 car ---should be the right one.
If you need another spacer---I should have a few but they are mostly all the same (big block or small block) except maybe the diameter of the 2 big holes. Should be simple to find one

no vacuum on the front port of the carb :(

Went to a car show today, truck still hangs in gears at stop lights and you have to gasses it to get the downshift :( I did buy a vacuum gauge so I'll find out whats going on. it could be the modulator itself

Saw some other 65/66s' and told them about the site so I hope they join up.

I also ran out of gas :(

and I didn't win any thing :(

BUT, it is still a sweet ride when in 3rd and cruising along, sound and runs great at that point.

gregg, ask in the parts wanted section for a phenolic spacer for a two barrel. i have one, but it doesn't have the port for the pcv or i would just mail it to you. the bolt spacing and venturi holes are the same at least up into the 80's. you need to get that pcv and modulator vacuum routed correctly for the truck to run right.
i wish i could be of more help.
and also, you say you didn't win anything, but i saw a couple of pics you posted last week and i'd say you've won quite a lot.

Sorry Gregg, I meant the big nipple on the back side of the spacer---it should have vacuum at all times. The litttle one on the carb will have increased vacuum as you rev it up. And the modulator only controls the 2-3 shift on the trans

tim, some of those aluminum spacers had the vacuum port on the front side. or maybe it was edelbrock that put the pcv port in the front. either way i do remember some having it in the front, but yes, most are in the rear.

my spacer has nothing on the back, it's just flat, only that port on the front and there is no vacuum from it.

Does the hose on the back of the modulator just pull off? I have the type of modulator that is held in by a clip but I wasn't able to pull the hose off the back of it, should I pull harder or am I missing something?

I have 18-19Hg vacuum at the front part of the transmission vac line and the same reading at the near the back. The PO has run a flared brake line to the back of the tranny and there is a hose coming off this brake line to the back of the trans modulator. I put a vacuum on the brake line fitting and got 18-19Hg. So my next test is to put in right on the end of the hose that terminates on the modulator. Those reading are at idle btw.

to add to the mix, if you go from cruising along in 3rd geer, come to a stop, put it in reverse or neutral, then go back to "D" it will start in second till you put your foot into it, then it will go to 1st, then into 2nd, then 3rd.
AHH trucks are so fun.

the tranny was rebuilt about a year ago by a transmission shop. I hope once I get the vacuum lines figured out it will work, or just start changing out parts, 2v spacer, trans modulator, hoses

This should help ALOT. Personally I would change the vacuum advance unit on the distributor to a single type and and run the hose to ported vacuum on the carb

Your PCV valve is cracked or loose and bypassing fresh air into the intake.
It should not be gathering oil or making different noises when you wiggle it.
If you plug the steel end with your finger and wiggle the valve it should not be leaking.
The modulator on the transmission is blown or the lower hose is damaged. It is just a diaphragm and no real volume of air should be passing through it. If you suck on the tube going down to the transmission it should hold vacuum.
The PCV valve is hooked up to the plate under the carb so that the crankcase fumes are dispersed equally into the engine.
It should have a strong signal (suck) when you put your finger over the end of the steel part. The carb plates get clogged over time.

The transmission monitors manifold vacuum and the modulator diaphragm on the back of the transmission downshifts the transmission when vacuum drops. It can be hooked up to almost any place that has full manifold vacuum.
