I beg to differ.

There are only TWO seasons in Canada.

'August', and 'Winter'.

You know, I did not vote for the man, but I gotta give him credit. He sure fooled a lot of people out there. Anyone, that came out of the crooked politics of Northern Illinois is a crook. Most likely the same could be said for southern Illinois just not as close to the money. Only thing I can say, is that we sure didn't have much to pick from. Things need to change but the parties are not going to do what needs to be done. It would have to be someone voted in that was a real A-hole and would declare martial law. Only way it could be done and it would be hard to do then. For example, stop all imigration. Find out who can be prosecuted , remove those from office, and prosecute them. Institute drug tests for all government employees. If I have to be drug tested every time I'm sent on a job, then the government people should be tested at random, and at least once a year. How about a line item veto? Cut all the pork out of those bills. Rain forest in Nebraska indeed.

What really chaps my a** is that the theives and rascals that got thrown out last go around, spent millions of dollars over the last election cycle, everywhere, including the net, to convince the people that everything was perfect until Obama became president. WE conveniently forgot, and put them back in to steal some more. millions where spent to make people you thought where competent became the anti-christ overnight.
Out here in California, where we are worst than DamnYankees,
we had two CEOs' who "earned" billions of dollars sending over 40,000 of our jobs overseas. They both ran as fiscal concervatives, dedicated to clean up those thieves in politics One spent over 140,000,000 dollars, for a job that pays 120,000 a year,Somehow I dont think thats responsible at all.
We are the people that pay taxes, balance our check book, put food on the table, and try to do the right thing by our families, they are the ones who spend tax money and kowtow to special interests.
The more you play into their devisiveness the more you empower them
and we all lose.

Careful there uni,
You are trying to equate logic with politics, they are mutually exclusive

Alan, the term "yankee" was generally applied to Northerners up to about 1875 or so, but was even used in the North among themselves to refer to what we today call politically correct busybodies, meddlers and do-gooders that used other people's money and government dictates to get what they wanted.
After 1880 or so, the term Yankee was more associated with US residents than with a mindset, especially as US moved along an imperial path. Think the "Great White Fleet" and the Spanish-American War for example, as well as the saying "Yankee Go Home!" of more recent wars.
I remember a discussion in graduate school psychology of Robert Frost's poem "The Mending Wall" as partly directed to those that want to keep their privacy away from the politically correct agitators.
As for those of us who have Confederate sympathies, "yankee" refers to those entities who espouse government control and solutions over personal and Constitutional liberties - a mindset, not a place of residence.
Lincoln destroyed the 10th amendment, for example by his victory in the War for Southern Independence.
May I suggest the following for reading, and don;t hesitate to contact me off-list for more articles:

Amen... Lots of money telling folks that have too little $$$ how to vote. And blaming Obama --- well sorry, he's not perfect, but he's NOT the cause of the mess we are in. IMO, when you try and blame Obama for this mess, you are letting your racial bigotted tendencies get the best of you........

I have been following the Debt Commission plan to reduce the deficit -- Alan Simpson, a Republican former Senate leader, and Erskine Bowles, a White House chief of staff under President Bill Clinton --- and I liked a lot of what they had to say. Democrats had more anger than Republicans and I am getting to really dislike Pelo$i as well.

I am a well off man, not rich, but blessed. I don't like paying taxes, but I realize that you need them. If there is one thing I cannot stand about the Democratic party these days its that: They don't seem to understand that you have to pay for your programs. If you cannot convince people to pay for the tab, then leave the problem lay (healthcare)....
