I got the bumper back from the chrome shop today. It looks a whole lot better than it did before. It actually matches the curve like it should.

I need to slot the brackets about an 1/8" to make the bumper correct on each side. It needs to move to the drivers side about 1/8" to make it even.

I don't think that will happen. That is my wife's bike and she likes the Pearl White. I have considered painting my Heritage Softtail Classic to match the truck.
I am considering painting the 29 Model A, blue pearl, so that I can have red, white and blue vehicles in this garage and 1 black one.

How thick is the metal of which the repro bumper is made compared to the original?
There is a 64 in a salvage yard near me with a good looking front bumper but it doesn't appear to follow the curvature of the gravel guard. There are no signs of damage to the bumper, brackets, or frame. I'm wondering if it's a repro that's been painted, in which case I don't really want it.

just food for tought ,but if you've had your truck towed it tends to straighten out the front bumper.
My long bed broke down in the middle of the desert when i was bringing it home, had it towed by a good samaritain, and now it looks awful,it no longer fits the rock guard curve
yeah it bothers me too!your not alone

My bumper is an LMC repro. It measures out at .100 thick. I am not sure what the factory bumper thickness is.
Maybe this will help.
