If you drop the front clip off you can inspect the core support a little better, degunk the engine from a closer distance, and waller around the firewall to paint it easier.... just a suggestion??? now get moving... slickstock is only 7 paydays away!!!!

cleaned up the dash bezel with paint thinner (PO had something on there), then a cleaning with wax grease remover, then it with two coats of rattle can metallic. Came out really good. I also did the circles on the lens but that was harder to see.

Man Gregg, That looks great. If all your work turns out that nice, you will have a sweet looking slick.

thanks. It was a guess that i could work. I did learn that it doesn't take much to cover something with a spray can. runs real easy.

curse you vent window frames. I was taking mine out for new rubber when the shaft broke off and the window just came out of the frame.

I assume these are useless without the head being in the frame window that spins????

Going to try white gauges on a 66 custom cab with the sweept speedo and two gauges. Not sure how it will look but I'll experiment while I watch it rain. Photos later if it's not raining to bad

My coil is supposed to mount here but there is this grounding thing. the red wire is taped to a black wire that goes to the coil, the black wire is then taped to a red wire that goes...I don't know

That is a ballast resistor. These trucks originally came with a resistor wire for the "run" circuit to the coil to drop the voltage to 9V after the engine starts. I had to do the same thing to my Uni, the resistor wire was bad - couldn't find it so I ran a normal wire from the switch through the resistor to drop the voltage.

What year truck did you get those seats from? I really would like a set like that! Is it much work to install those?

this set was out of a 1999-2002 Silverado regular cab. I think the same seats are used in the GMC Sierra, and I think the Tahoe up till 2006. Im nowhere near ready to put them in but Im guessing it will be much like this one. Other options are the Sebring Convertible, and certain F150s 2005 maybe, they all had the built in belt.

There is also a member that has done these silverado seats (cant remember name) and he used square tubing and used the stock bench seat locations for the back, then fabbed something for the front.

I think if you search the site for "silverado" it should prove helpful. Ive shopped around and the junk yards are about $250 for all 3 seats/jump seat included. I got these two off craigslist for $25. needs new foam and covers but I had planned on redoing that all anyway.

That was me with the Silverado seats in my 66. I had to squeeze them together by 1.5 inches to keep the center console, I needed the middle seat to take both of my boys for rides.
The only isus is the factory rails keep the seats high and forward from the factory bench. I am going to use a 15 inch wheel and keep my weight under 250.

yep, my thoughts as well. 15inch aftermarket grant wheel and if it was too hard, then add on power steering. Since mine is going to be mostly cruise in type driving, im not to worried about it

well here is my attempt at white gauges. I've been test fitting them and they aren't perfectly shaped to the whole gauge but the lines are correct and everything within the visible gauge face is where the factory ones are. I did add a couple extra lines on the temp but the upper and lower are in the same as a stock gauge, and the fuel gauge lines look different but the lines end up in the right spot. if anything you will fill up before you are on E.

It only costs $1.00 at Kinkos to get them printed on sticky back laminated paper. So i've been playing around with the fonts and the speedo to add something personal. I just moved up the 1/2 mph dots, and re centered them in the hashes.

I think I'll go with the Custom Cab set with the different font. I should be able to get the dots and the Custom Cab withing the small speedo face. I repainted my needles orange, but might switch to black.

The cool thing is that I can change the white to any color and change the black to any color or add in a third color
