Welllllll! SO FAR I own five slicks. The four listed plus a 64 F100 "parting out" truck. The first three are running, licensed and insured. The crew is a "big time/long time" project.

Would like a couple more when MY economy improves, but I'm trying to concentrate on fixing and upgrading the one's I have before I add more.

Realizing that the vaccine for "Slickitus" is only temporary and will wear off eventually, my wish list includes: a Slick 4x4 and a Slick fire truck. Oh, and a short Uni for a XL100 clone. And maybe a Slick hauler. Where's that Lottery ticket? :-)
If you understand what you’re doing, you’re not learning anything.

I've just got the one '66 F100...but I learned this past weekend that my mother learned to drive on my grandfather's '53 Ford pickup.

I bought my '65 F-250 in '75 when I 23, I kept it for 23 years and then sold it to a kid that was 23 years old. The kid lived a 100 miles away in Apple Valley, CA. and said he was taking it to Mammoth Mtn. to live another 200 or so miles away from there. In 2002 my dad spotted it when I was taking him home from the doctor in Huntington Beach, CA. I've never seen it again since, but I have a feeling it's located somewhere around here. It was my first Slick, and the only one I've owned. While I was looking for another Slick, I found my '72 short Styleside for $700.00 and I'm still looking for another Slick. I'm kind of stubborn, I know I can find one for cheap, or trade for something I have that's worth some money.

By the way, the December issue of CCT with the free all Chevy calendar, and a Chevy on the cover has eight pages of Slicks, not to mention some in show coverage. My last issue that I did myself. The Jan issue was half done when I left... on to something else.

No, I'm no longer the editor. I resigned, but I'll have one tech story per issue, and I'll be doing some tech for Classic Trucks as well.

The big news is I'm doing a new catalog / magazine for LMC Truck called American Truck on sale 1/26/09. Not big news for Ford guys though because it's all Chevy and GMC stuff. There's talk of doing a Ford only magazine but there's no release date yet.

I've had my Grandad's 65 Custom Cab since about early 2000. Bought my black 66 I think in late 2000 or early 2001. I had to let it go in 2002 when my oldest son was an infant because we needed a back seat. It was wrecked and I got it back for parts to use on the 65. I bought my green 66 in august of 2005 and sold it in June of 2009. I still see the green one as it was bought by a guy that live less than a mile away. The green one was probably the best truck I've ever owned, just had LOTS of rust issues

I've only got the one truck, my 66 F100. I've had other Ford pick ups through the years, a bone stock one owner 45,000 mile 1977 Ford Ranger which was a beauty. Sold that for a 1996 F150 which was a daily driver until gas got too expensive. Once the 96 was gone I started looking for a 1960's era truck. Found this great web site and started learning from all of you good folks what to look for in a truck from that time frame. Your advice has served me well. Got a great truck as a result. Just hope my job with Harley (in York, PA) holds out so I can turn my attention to fixing it up a bit.
