Looks like a decent project. :thumright: I wish I would have been able to keep the '68 coupe we had in the 80's, but it wasn't in the cards.

Same here slick, I miss my 65 I had was a K code, but had a glass front, 351w and 4 speed. I had to let it go because I didnt know what to do with it and didnt have a home of my own to put it, no job, fresh out of the army... blah blah blah

I also miss my first one which was a 73 Grande 351W 4 speed, midnight blue white stripes down the center and boss 351 stripes on the sides. I spent two years on it in auto body shop in high school only to have wrecked it hydroplaning in that thick texas water

Ezer,
seeings as you are IN KC, you may have to drive it to SS 08 one day. I'd sure like to admire it in person.

Well we are the proud (sort of ) owner of a new (it's new to us) '89 Hatchback.
My step son dumped this jewel on his mother. It didn't run and I didn't want a thing to do with it but my wife had to have it.
SS said if we don't get it running it's ours for free but if we get it running he wants 300 bucks. Wasn't that sweet of him?

Well we trailered it home and with a ton of help from my brother, who's a service tech at the Bridgestone Firestone plant and loves trouble shooting anything we got it to run at 500rpm's and that's wide open, after we found the burnt wire going to the injectors and another burnt wire powering the fuel pump.
Then we figured out that the timing was off by about 90 degrees, fixed that and she would actually rev past 4 grand and idle at 900, woo hoo.

Fuse panel was burnt pretty good were the blower (heater) fuse should go. I got the wires and put a fuse in line so now the heater works.
Had no power going to the turn signals so I installed a jumper wire there now turn signals work.

Rear shocks were so bad I thought somebody removed them, that's how bad it bounced. Hatch struts were shoot too, had to replace them.

Does have a nice set of Infinity speakers in it so I installed a new JVC 200watt cd player. Got to cover up the rattles some how.

Done a compression check on the engine and to my surprise it has 180lbs compression on all 4 cylinders.
Trans which is an A4OD shifts nice and firm but I still changed the fliud and filter so I could inspect the pan for any metal shavings, none were found.

Paid my SS the 300 bucks and totaled up my parts reciepts for a grand total of $800. So far the 'Stang acts like it might be a dependable car but time will tell.

Camera does the interior some justice, it's not that red and the seats are very sun faded.

Maybe I could slip a Mini-Stock dirt track engine in there, you think she'd notice?

My brother gave me some 15in GT rims for it, just got to clean them up and get some good rubber on them.

Now maybe I can get some work done to the '65 Slick. Got some new anti-rattle kits from DC for it but haven't have time to install them.

Not bad even with what you had to in it. Pretty clean little aerostang. Those Turbines will really wake up the looks of it, I have a set of them here too, pulled them off of my LX when I put the Ponys on it.

Yeah that's how my brother got these, he pulled them off his '91 GT when he found some Pony rims for it. But now the GT is parked in the back yard, for some reason he'd rather drive that '04 Cobra. What's up with that?
