Started at 6:30PM and engine was on the stand at 9:00PM.. So two and a half hours to get the engine out of the truck, all wires labeled and bolts bagged (to help make everything go back together smoother), tools almost put away, and removal of the oil pan.
My drain plug is stripped, and I have tried to put double sized plugs in and etc but it was too far gone. And the position of the drain plug hole is right on the cross member so you can't really get in there with a tap or anything... I am going to weld up the old hole and put a new one toward the back.
I also needed to replace my noisy throw out bearing so having the plug strip out was just the last excuse I needed to start in on pulling the engine.
So I am curious, what is your personal best for removing a motor **and** still having it usable? I know it's not best to rush these sort things, but for me anyway not being a professional mechanic having it done in the time I did was pretty cool.
It's a record! Well for me anyways...

Two days for removing the entire front clip, taking the engine down to the block, replacing a rear main, installing a new T5 and putting everything back together. Then I hooked up my MSD dist incorrectly. It worked for a minute though!
