Fixin' To

Here in the south we have a colloquial expression: "fixin' to", meaning we're getting ready or preparing to do something. It has occurred to me that I do way too much "Fixin to" and not nearly enough "Doing". Gotta improve that ratio. (':D')

I sure have a whole lot more fixin to's" than "got er dones".

when I did a job in new york they thought my terminology was hilarious. "fixin to" was one of them.

I've been "fixin' to" work in the front yard for about a month now. I just went and got the tiller from mu pops house.

Wonder how long I can get away with leaving it on the trailer?
