Hello all,
Last time I posted I was wrestling with a carb problem. The float level was set too high and gas was running out of a vent hole on top.
I really didn't like the idea of the fuel reservoir having a vent hole on top open to dirt and whatever else blows around under the hood so I replaced this carb with a rebuilt 2100.
This one seems to run fine but there are some extra vacuum ports I was not sure about. Can you please check these and let me know if I can leave them plugged or not?
I have an image posted in my gallery - ID: 1118.
The big one off the electric choke has a brass compression fitting and really pulls hard. The little one off the rim does not seem to affect anything.
thanks,
Doug
new carb, vacuum questions
Re: new carb, vacuum questions
If you're not gonna use the automatic choke, you'll need to cap off that nipple for the compression fitting. The engine won't idle well, sucking that much vaccuum. You'll also want to adjust the choke so it's always open & won't close on you at an inoportune moment.douglloyd wrote:

If you plan on using the auto choke, you can get heat riser kits from Napa to make that work.
If I recall, the other fitting you have circled is used to draw filtered air through the cold side of the auto choke heat riser.
