New guy

Post by jeffs66 »

I'm new here and have just been looking around a bit.
I have a 66 F100 that I'm working on swapping a fulie 302/AOD out of an
88 Lincoln Towncar into. I'm just getting started and have found lots of info. Maybe too much info, If you know what I mean.
I'm sure I'll have at least a couple questions before I can crank it up.
Here's a pic.

Welcome!

there have been a lot of new members in the last few months, so I would encorage you to search for the ansers to your questions, as well as start a new thread (if you want).

There are also some standard upgrades you should do...Brakes are a big one. (that would be a good search :) )

Again...WELCOME!

:) :) :)

Welcome to the club! Looks like you have a pretty nice starting point. Next time I am in Millington to visit my brother, I will have to come meet you.

Thanks for all the warm welcome(s).
I haven't checked the vins and such for the original color.
It is a repaint though.
It belonged to my brother who passed away about 3 years ago. He bought it maybe 10 years ago and drove it for a while. 351 Cleveland and C4.
The old Cleveland is needing rebuilt and he had wanted to swap a newer fuel injected motor into it, upgrade to discs and all that. It sat in their yard for several years.
After he passed away, I was helping my sister-in-law get the house ready to sell and then move. I expressed an interest in it and she and the kids gave it to me. I'd like to do what he wanted to do to it.
I have a guy swapping the motors now and then I'll take care of the hook up and getting it running. I'll have to make or modify a trans cross member too. What about the Lincoln X-member? I'm a machinist and welder so, I can modify the crap out of stuff.
The cleveland is slated for the 32 3-window coupe project I have. But I want to put a later 5 or 6 speed behind it.
Truckfarmer, Let me know when you're down this way.
