My trip to Cody Wy *** Added pictures***

Post by 36truck »

Drove out to Cody Wy to pick up a 65 F100 stepside. Left here on Sunday at 3:00 pm got to St Cloud Mn. at 10:00 that night. Then Monday left at 8:00 am arrived in Cody at 10:00 that night. Picked up the truck on Tuesday Am.
The guy I bought it from is a Ford aholic like us. Owns a 66 F100 as his daily driver. His dad owns a 62 Uni. They both own more Ford trucks.
The trip home was interesting after I left Cody I drove over Big Horn Mountain in order to get to I90 so I could see Mount Rushmore and a few other stops along the way.

Drove over 9460" of elev. hauling this behind the Ranger.

Did you take Alt 14 over the bighorns? goes by Medicine Wheel....pulling or driving a slick over that pass could get your blood pumping a little. Its one of my favorites in that part of the country.

Nice pictures Tom, glad you had a good trip and I know you are looking forward to your next one. By the looks of the slick, you got a good deal.

Definitely looks like it was a good drive. Did you have to tow the truck up one side of the mountain & down the other, or was the truck waiting for you at the top?
What I mean is...how did the Ranger like all those hills, with the load on it's back?

Beautiful country up there. Not sure I'd want to pull a wagon up & down those roads when it's slick though.
