Vin Question

Post by zuru66 »

#F10J0R17182 118, M, F100, 29K, A, 01 It's supposed to be a 1960 according to the title, and if it checks out, it's gonna be up for sale less motor and tranny. btw, there's the original intake and exhaust with it that has the numbers #EBP-9430-A. Anybody know if this fit a 223 or whatever it had in it??? Appreciate the help. Paul

Casting numbers starting with "EBP" definitely refer to a 223 six (produced from 1954-64).

The VIN breaks down like this:

F10 = Model (F-100, though my info says the model code should have 4 digits, not 3)
J = Engine code (223)
0 = Year (1960)
R = Assembly plant (San Jose)
17182 = Unit number

118 = Wheelbase in inches
M = Colour (Corinthian White)
29K = Date code (29 Oct)
A = Transmission code (3-speed standard)
01 = Axle code (3.70 ratio)
