Just got my 62!

Post by six-two »

I just got this 62 a few days ago. It needs lots of work, but it's going to be fun. It has a 351 Cleveland 4V motor and a 3 speed automatic. Unibody, 2WD. Check the pics in my gallery, it is also the truck in my avatar.

When you get around to putting on sway bars, give me a shout and I'll show you how to put front ones on a straight axle.
The rear bar is a no brainer.
Real men drive straight axles, right phRed? ROTFLMAO

Welcome to the club! Very nice truck also. I have a 62 Uni in the barn for a someday project. When I put it together, it will have a 351 Cleveland and AOD. I have that combination in my 56 panel truck and absolutely love it.

Good looking truck. That truck looks to be good and solid. I want my next project truck to be a uni.

Riesel? Have you been home lately? There is a freakin' 6 lane highway going right thru the heart of your little town.
I miss the old German (I think) yard sale/ curio shop on the east side of Hwy 6 as you came from Waco going to Marlin.
It closed down. I guess those folks finally got so old they couldn't keep it going.
My folks were from Italy. I don't know if you played them, but I'm betting you played Mexia.
Anyway, welcome to the family.
Uncle Skip - just south of Houston in beautiful Pearland.

Uncle Skip- Yeah. the highway is crazy. My parents still live there so I go and visit every so often. We probably played against Italy and Mexia in the playoffs back in the day. And I know the guy who owned the German Barnyard, his sons even worked on my parents farm while they were in high school. Just dont drive through there now, you'll get pulled over for something if you arent related to the local cops, all the cities funds come from traffic tickets!
