And all the rest of the Gov mandated crap that is now required on the new vehicles to protect us from ourselves cause we can no longer pay attention to our driving.
I get off on a rant too with all the new stuff being forced on and being demanded by todays drivers.
My old pickup needs me to drive it. I don't even have a radio in mine to distract, besides I enjoy the various and sundry noises it makes.

Funny thing is if I do take something out because I WANT to drive it my choices are always my Uni or my 85 GT. The only 2 carbed vehicles here, BOTH of them however still get better mileage than a suburban. I also seem to notice that the suburban driver is usually the first one across the intersection after the light turns green or the impatient SOB that's right on my arse. I usually just slow down, lol. Tailgates me too hard and I have been known to catch them at the next light and inform them of what I will do to him if he hits one of my vehicles, "Hit one of MY cars and you had better HOPE you die in the accident, @#$%^&!" :boxing:

one time my ma was drivin the truck to Tombstone AZ and my dad was drivin my Aunt's Suburban cuz the power steering went bad on the drive. some SOB in a big rig was tailgating the hell out of my ma. My dad pulled up alongside the guy, while driving, stuck himself out the window, and screamed and gestured "If you hurt my wife I'll KILL You" with the slash throat gesture.... that dude slammed on the Jake brake right quick... My dad has a way of being kinda scary when he's pissed.

For all the bitchin' people do about the price of gas, it is still cheaper than anywhere else in the world. We buy by the gallon. Most places buy by the liter. I remember I was in london in 1993 and I looked at the price of "petrol". It worked out to about $2.75 a gallon in 1993 with exchange and conversion from liter to gallon. Its no surprise that people in London and other major metro cities in europe rely on mass transportation.

it's more expensive in other parts of the world because it is taxed by the gov't to pay for the upkeep of their welfare/socialist states. just another form of wealth re-distribution.

uh doc.... why didn't you just lay on the horn? it's relatively easy to piss people off to the point of moving away....

Fact is, people seem to be absolutely oblivious to other people around them. their SUV is their own little planet. Most even have fast food and cell phones circling in a low orbit....

sunday drivers

all these people including the 4'9" person who can't make a left turn, used to be called "sunday drivers". I hate leaving the house anymore for risk of denting my 65 f100. Our society is hell bent on rewarding amateurism at any cost.

When I get my old truck on the road I have a very nasty and quite loud set of air horns and an air tank/ compressor going on my little truck.
I have actually made a person loose bladder control with these horns!

Personally I wish gas was still less than 1.50. But I will never see that again. Gas is ruining this country. When the gas goes up we have less to spend and save. Then we have to cut back then companies have to lay off due to everyone cutting back and not buying. Then more layoffs, etc. I don't have the problem with gas at 3.00 just at the fast rise of it. It has doubled since about 2003. I also got laid off then and my paycheck now is at least 25 -35% less. I was driving twice as far to work in 2003 but it costs me more a day now. The gas hurts people like me hard. I live out in the country. There are no buses or shuttles. There are no good jobs here so a drive is a must. I could move but my wife and I are here taking care of family. Plus our child will graduate in a few years from HS so we do not want to move until she does. So we are stuck paying the high cost of gas while costs rise and paychecks shrink. And yes my autos are all small gas misers except for my slick which hasn't moved in months. Not everybody has the same chances to carpool or ride a bus.

There's 2 sets of big truck horns in my dad's shed that I'm gonna swipe when I get an air system in my truck.... It's gonna be sweet.

No they just like to tax us! standard unleaded petrol yesterday was $1.38 per litre, diesel $1.48 per litre.
