Playing around with the truck today-Bigger tires.

Post by Phil »

I swapped on some 30.5" tires just to see what they would look like.
As long as I am keeping this ride ht and paint I plan on keeping this truck looking utilitarian.

After I fix the steering I may add some bigger tires, namely this size.
The slotted mags are photoshopped on

Any thoughts?

Leave the Kelly Chargers on the front & use the Coopers on the back...looks bestest like that in my book. :D

Besides, you may find that those Coopers on the front will hit the fenders going into parking lots & stuff, not to mention exaggerating the steering play issues.

Old tire size.

The new ones are just too big and overbearing.

My thoughts anyway.

I really like the looks of your truck. Keep the kelly's and slots. It won't get any better than that. :D As soon as I come across a really nice set of 8 lug slots, they will go on my black crew.

I love the wheels - don't care for the new, bigger tires.

Your Uni definitely looks better with the smaller tires, but those larger ones would look good on a 'standard' slick, I think.

Heavy,
I gotta say I like the smaller size also, but I do like the looks of a slightly aggressive tire simalir to what is in your photo. My brother in law has a '51 and my brother a '53 and they both have tires similar to your Coopers. Photo crop a smaller M+S tire on your slots and it may look slightly different but cool. :thumright:

Still not sure what Ill do. Gotta go through the steering 1st

Thanks guys. I kinda like both. The big tires are cartoon-y which to me is just fine.
