dirty laundry

Post by ICEMAN6166 »

in the laundromat an a guy comes cruising thru on a very old truck with wooden wheels.
naturally i go out to investigate and find him parked by the barn behind the grain elevators next door.
he is playing around with the engine so i go over and see whats up.
turns out to be a 1919 ford truck, open cab with a hand crank below the grille.
its a 4 cyl, not running on all cylinders so he takes out one of the coils, a wooden box with contact points on one side and brass contacts on top and bottom.
tells me the contacts tend to get crud on them and need periodic cleaning.
after some chit chat i mention my 66
he tells me to go look in the barn
in the back corner is a 65 f250 camper special, a bit dusty but otherwise unmolested and solid.
in another corner is a red 65 mustang, same condition.
goes to show you never know whats hiding in a barn and you should always talk to other folks with old iron.
the 1919 is going to be in the parade tomorrow, im going to go see what else shows up.

No flats, few electrical problems, other than the coils; simplicity itself!

Brian: Being as I'm too cheap to pay for a data plan, I have to rely on catching a wi-fi signal wherever I can , but doing this, I can send an email to myself (or anyone else) from my phone with the pics attached...that takes the troubles with doing a hardwire transfer of pics out of the equation, but it just occurred to me you may not be using a "smartphone" in which case none of the above is applicable:(

and BTW: I picked up a Motorola Moto G Smartphone, because you can buy them outright without having to commit to a "PLAN", which means I'm not obligated to pay for a data plan......relative to many of the other smartphones out there, they are relatively inexpensive, have a look on Amazon!! ($200.00 or less, depending on weather you get the 8GB or 16GB version)

I have an old 3G dumb phone but I take pics and send them to my computer with no problem. Just use my Email address and hit send. Most all my picture posts come from me moving them from my pics to Photobucket and then copy and paste on here. TR
