My driver door is a standard converted to uni.. I just cut the bodyline out of both doors ,drilled the spotwelds where they wrap around the edges. than welded the uni part into the standard door, I think I flanged one or the other?
Well mine is one of the mid to late 80's however the 2003 and later ones have a suspension that transfers so well its pretty common now. I don't regret doing mine the way I did.. But I was seriously stoked up and motivated so it went well.. Back in those days Kid and I refused to let the other guy sit and think about it.. we just did it.
If I take on this project I will also do the full chassis swap.. I like all the advantages.. & I'm not a fan of the look of the wide track width on the '03 and up front clip..
Well I do like mine, it is a labor intensive way to do it pretty cheap if you get a good donor LTD/Crown Vic..
I have probably let close to 20 people in the club drive it and I think they all liked it.. Mine has an old tired 300 in it so I am sure they were wanting more power, but other than maybe CASTRUCK I doubt many trucks will stop straighter, and shorter than mine. And with a 50 dollar LTD under the truck it will be hard to make a better upgrade for less money
Jason, spend money on the truck. It'll last years longer than the honeymoon. That's over in a couple of weeks or until you track grease into the kitchen.
Trust your old Uncle Skipper. I have the tee shirt to prove it.
I'm not arguing with you. I'm just explaining why I'm right.
Pardon me. Does your deaug bite?
Oh what the heck. I'll say it. Jason when you typed the words "honey moon" it reminded of me of an old Simpsons episode (like most things in life do...) when Bart and Milhouse and Nelson were walking out of the movie theatre complaining after they had seen the movie "Naked Lunch" and I think it was Nelson that said "I can think of at least 2 things wrong with the title of that movie!" haha, so you can see where I'm going with this...
